1926 - 2008
Shirley Butcher Grant our beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great-Great Grandma, passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2008. She was surrounded by family who dearly loved her.
Shirley will always be remembered by family and friends for her beautiful yard and garden, that she kept while her health allowed. Christmas was Shirley's favorite time of year. She decorated her yard and home with such beautiful things. She especially loved to see the spirit of Christmas in her children's homes. .
She was married to Marvin Ray Butcher, who preceded her in death on December 28, 1980. She later married Ned William Grant who also preceded her in death..
Shirley was blessed with seven children, 3 boys and 4 girls, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren..
Shirley was born on March 9th, 1926 in Winter Quarters Carbon, Utah, to Shirley Lionel and Elva Lauretta Jensen. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Reinhard) Scherwinski, Carolyn (Kayo) Godfrey, Kathy (Rick) Simmons; her son's Tom Butcher, Craig (DeAnn) Grant; her son-in-law Herb Hunt and her daughter-in-law Jean Canavan. .
She was preceded in death by her infant son Larry and her daughter Vickie Joe (Herb) Hunt..
We would also like to thank her neighbor and friend Alice for all her years of friendship and Maryjo Ricks and Jean Canavan for the kindness and friendship they both have shown to our mom. .
Funeral Services will be held Friday May 9th, 2008 at 11:00am at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may visit with the family Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm and Friday morning from 9:45 to 10:45am prior to services.
