On Monday, May 5, 2008, Heber Delmar (Del) White, 86, passed away at the Ogden Regional Hospital. He was born May 25, 1921 in Plain City, Utah to Sarah May Blanch and Heber Charles White.

He was raised in Plain City and attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High.

A veteran of World War II, Del served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Phillipines.

He married Norma Jullett Larsen on September 22, 1942 in Ogden. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on May 13, 1965.

They settled in Farr West and raised their family. Their firstborn, Carol Jean, died in infancy. Surviving are Kenneth Delmar, Arden, NC; RaNae Call (Kent) Farr West; Eldon James (Valene) Forth Worth, TX; and Paul Charles (Lael) Williamsburg, VA.

After Norma's death in 1984, he met and married Gloria Buchanan Reese in 1986. They lived in Farr West until moving to Elwood in 2005. Del and Gloria loved spending the winters in Yuma, AZ.

His step-children are Melanie Steed (Farrell) Henderson, NV; LeaAnn Potter (Blaine) Garland; Jeff Reese (Becky) Tremonton; and Kirk Reese (Leslie) San Antonio, TX.

In the blended family, there are 27 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is survived by two sisters, Lola (LaMarr) Sessions and Lucile Page.

Del worked in the cattle business with the Ogden Stock Yards, and Producers Livestock Co. He was also self-employed as a Cattle Order Buyer throughout the mid-west and Inter-mountain areas.

He was actively involved in the community as a 4-H leader and was over the junior livestock segment of the first Weber County Fair at the new fair grounds. Del was honored as the Farr West City Citizen of the year in 1987.

Active in the LDS Church, Del served as an Ogden Temple worker, a high priest group leader, and home teacher. He loved serving his friends, neighbors and those he saw in need.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8th at Leavitt's Mortuary at 836 36th Street from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Elwood 1st Ward located at 4865 West 9600 North in Elwood. Viewing will precede the service from beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a donation to the L.D.S. Perpetual Education Fund.

Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
