Mary Tomasita Gonzales Lopez, age 84 of Payson, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008. She was born December 26, 1923 in Durango, Colorado to Pedro and Floripa Martinez Gonzales.

She married Tony F. Lopez, December 10, 1943 in Durango, Colorado.

Mary worked as a nurses aid at Payson Hospital and Eldridge Hospital in Provo. She enjoyed sewing and being with her family. She was a member of the San Andres Catholic Church and sponsored many dances and dinners. She volunteered in many activities.

Survivors include: her children, Manulela (Gary) Shepard, Fillmore; Raymond (Patsy) Lopez, Farmington, New Mexico; Benny Lopez, Gunnison; Rose Ann (Russell) Wilkes, Salem and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Jose Martinez, Joe B. Gonzales, Patsy Garcia, Chris Gonzales, and Silviano Gonzales.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Andres Catholic Church, 315 East 100 North, Payson. A Rosary will be held Friday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again at the mortuary on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson Cemetery.
