Darwin Larry Wilkerson, 68, of West Valley City, died May 5, 2008.

Born June 4, 1939 in Salt Lake City to John Ether Wilkerson, Jr. and Elsie Twila Wimmer Wilkerson. He married Dorothea “Dottie” Putscher on Sept. 28, 1957 in Elko, Nevada.

He lived his entire life in the Salt Lake City area and was a steel worker at Commercial Shearing, Inc. He loved gardening, fishing, camping and being in the mountain, visiting Florida and coin collecting. His delight was spending with his family. His greatest achievement was being a husband, a father and a grandfather.

Survived by his wife Dottie: children: Darwin, Jr. (Annette); David (Tammy); Debra Gardner; Darren (Penny); Don “Dusty” (Lisa); Deloy (Seymie) and 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a sister: Delite Wilkerson.

Preceded in death by parents, brother: Doyle and granddaughter: Darcy Lee.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 12 Noon at the Copperhills 5th Ward, 4333 So. 6400 W.. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial at Redwood Memorial Estates. Funeral directors: SereniCare Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Dottie Wilkerson.
