Carl Fremont Herren, 57, returned to his Father in Heaven May 11, 2008. He was welcomed with open and waiting arms for a joyous reunion with his father and brother. Carl passed away peacefully at home during the early morning hours of a beautiful spring day.

Born April 25, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John L. and Beverly Retford Herren. He married Shauna Rae Holder February 24, 1973; solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple May 20, 1979. Together they had three sons who were the pride and joy of their life. He had two grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart. He could often be found rolling on the floor with them and making them laugh.

Carl had a great love for his family, fishing, hunting, sports, rodeos and quilting.

He is survived by his wife, Shauna; son, Carl (Shellie); son, Ryan (Mindi); son, David; mother, Beverly Herren; sister, Peggy (Mike) Davis; sister, Daneen (Pete) Patmides; granddaughter, Taeler Rae Herren; grandson, Daegan John Herren; many nieces, nephews and freinds.

Preceded in death by his father; brother, John L. Herren Jr.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain View 1st Ward, 8825 South 3200 West where a viewing will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
