Ora LaRue Peterson

1917  -  2009

LaRue Peterson, age 92, passed away October 23, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Sandy surrounded by her family. Born January 14, 1917 in Fairview, Utah to Andrew Hall and Zina Briggs Hall. Married Leon Peterson August 29, 1933 in SLC, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a homemaker that loved to be surrounded by family, won many blue ribbons and sweepstakes at the SL County Fair with her baking and candy making.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many organizations.

Survived by her children: Allen (Hazel) Peterson, Elaine (Dennis) Jewell, Kathy Miller, Merlynn (Steven) Visher; 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Leon and daughter ReNae Wilding.

Funeral services will be 12 noon, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Riverside 2nd Ward Chapel, 500 West Germania Ave. (5090 So.), Murray, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Murray, and at the church one hour prior to services. Interment Murray City Cemetery
